Opening
Ports in the Norton Personal Firewall 2004
(ref; http://firewalling.com/personalfirewalls/nortonpersonalfirewall.htm)
Step 1:
Open up the Norton Personal Firewall program.
Step 2:
Double click the Norton Personal Firewall button located
on this page. This will open another page with a bunch of tabs at the top of
it. Click the Programs tab. In the window on this page are
listed the programs that the firewall currently has rules for.
Step 3:
If your program is listed (the list is alphabetized, so you
may have to scroll down) and it says Block All by
it (like Adobe Acrobat Reader), click on the down arrow by and select Automatic if
it's available or Permit All if it's not.

Step 4:
Click the Okay button to exit.
If your program is not listed!
Step 1:
Click on the Add button and this screen will pop up.
Step 2:
Locate the program you want to add through the folder view, select it, and click
on the Open button. In this example, we're going to be adding
the aformentioned Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is located in C:\program files\adobe\acrobat
7.0\reader\AcroRd32.exe

Step 3:
After you've selected the file and clicked on Open , this security
box will display asking you how you want Norton to handle this file. Again, select Automatically
configure Internet Access (Recommended) if it's available or Permit if
it's not and click Okay .

That's it, your program should now be configured for internet access.
Click on Okay and you're done.
